Get playing.
Mac install guide. AU + VST3.
1. Run the .pkg.
Open [INSTALLER FILE].pkg. Follow the installer steps.
Then quit and reopen your DAW.
2. Check the folders.
AU:
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
VST3:
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
3. In GarageBand.
Preferences/Settings > Audio/MIDI > enable Audio Units.
Then choose Plug-ins > Audio Units > Hood.
Not showing up?
Quit and reopen your DAW.
For AU, reset the cache by logging out and back in.
Or quit your DAW and run this in Terminal:
killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar
Then reopen your DAW.
In other DAWs, rescan VST3 in the plug-in settings.
Blocked by macOS?
Right-click or Control-click the .pkg > Open.
Or go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
